To say these last few weeks have been busy is an understatement. I have had 7 family portrait sittings, a wedding box, photo books, 3 band promo shoots and all the editing that comes with the lot of it, to get done before Christmas.
I am NEARLY there. Only a couple more clients left to edit and send off then Im DONE. Until the 30th December that is, when Im off to do a beautiful low key Christmas wedding.
If you are still stuck as to what to get your loved ones for Christmas, why not buy one of my portrait vouchers (eVouchers and hard copies available) as they really do make the BEST gifts. Redeemable for a year too :-)
In other news:
I’ve also been busy in the recording studio with the writing team, kick started the Christmas gigs off with The Live Lounge Project and squeezed in a few solo shows of my own. Not to mention the incredible gigs we’ve had for the Urban Vocal Group. Everything has been fabulous. Nearly time for a little rest though.
Hows everyones Christmas preparations coming along?

This is a first class night FULL of great local, young talent.
We provide FREE music and vocal tuition to young people aged 11-18 in the Hampshire area and have been established since 2008. Every year we hold a fundraiser concert to help us keep going throughout the year. So far the support has been fantastic and we want to thank every one of you (Friends, members, parents) that travel, support, help out at all our performances. We get bigger and better every year!
In these tough times, things for young people to do are hard to find but with the consistency and constant development we have NO young people currently NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) which means that every person passing through our doors is either in school, college, training or have gone on to great jobs. And we are incredibly proud of all of their achievements so far!
We’re all doing something right it would seem :-)
Please come along and show your support to this wonderful group. Many are performing for the VERY first time and it takes so much courage to stand up and entertain a whole group of people.
Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 Concessions. Please click the link to join the event. I am available for tickets at any time. www.theuvg.co.uk - Thank you xx
On Wednesday I did something I’ve never done before. And it was honestly the first time I have ever felt truly appreciated as a performer. I had the pleasure of entertaining over 40 detainees of all nationalities alongside the awesome Charlie Fletcher at The Immigration Removal Centre, Gosport.
Nothing quite like the language barrier being completely broken down, by a room full of non English speaking people all singing ‘One Love’ at the top of their lungs.
These people come here hoping to join family, go straight to employment, thinking they have all the relevant papers. But as we know, sometimes its just not that easy. So they get detained and live almost like prisoners.
Im happy knowing that today (and for the 4 more bookings they have now now given us) we made those young men happy. Bringing music into their lives at what must seem like very confusing times. Bring on the next one… even with all the gear to carry through crrraaaazy security gates. (Was totally like something out of The Walking Dead crossing ‘the yard’ through the locked gates)
Music - The universal language.
